Best Online Scheduling Software for Tattoo Shops
The Ink Of Success
Ken Longston had been a tattoo artist for 16 years in Oklahoma City, OK. He opened his shop in 2003 with one other artist. Since then he’s added two other artists to the staff but they still have completely different schedules.
The Problem
Creativity and organization don’t usually go hand-in-hand, so keeping four artists with wildly different schedules organized had always been a struggle. No appointment book was ever up the challenge of odd hours, inconsistent appointment lengths and multiple session tattoo projects. Ken had considered a receptionist, but a lot of his business was based on the personal relationship between the artists and the clients.
Of course, that personal relationship meant his artists were constantly making “informal” appointments with friends or returning clients through Facebook or on their own time. Those appointments didn’t always make it into the schedule the next day, which meant double-bookings were happening too often.
The Solution
Ken needed something online, something easy to use and something that could handle the erratic schedules. If they were going to invest the time in switching, they also needed something that would do more than just replace the appointment book. Basically, they needed BookedIN.
The Results
Ken has everybody working from one schedule instead of a thousand scraps of paper, voicemails and e-mails. They’re also keeping track of what’s been done and what needs to be done for each client by making notes whenever they need to. Each artist sets their own ability, so the schedule is up-to-date and Ken never has to wonder who’s going to be working.
The artists can also access the schedule from home, so if someone decides to set something up during off-hours they can plug it into the schedule right away.
